Republic Wireless Offers Unlimited plans for $20
| |
6 November 2011
Republic Wireless, a division of Broadband.com, expects to offer unlimited cell phone plans for $20 per month for budget-conscious customers.
Republic Wireless plans launching hybrid cellular voice and VoIP service on November 8. The company is going to offer unlimited talk, text and data at affordable rates, with no termination fees and no contract required.
As company’s officials stated, the plan is truly “unlimited” without bandwidth caps.
Republic also plans to use Wi-Fi by default in order to make VoIP calls and change to a cellular network when Wi-Fi is unavailable automatically. The switching will be seamless for users, the connection status will be automatically indicated on the handset display.
To use Republic’s plan users are expected to purchase a custom Android phone. The company has not released details about the required handset yet.
