Snom, VoIP and IP phone manufacturer, and GSMK CryptoPhone, provider of mobile voice and message security, have stated about the launch of a joint secure desktop phone offering called IP 19.

The telephones will combine snom's VoIP telephone hardware with GSMK's voice and message encryption firmware to create a secure IP phone system. The IP phone will be available from both snom and GSMK from their distribution networks.

“The IP 19 is a universal, easy-to-use IP-based desktop phone that allows secure end-to-end encrypted calls. Users are protected by military grade security and can communicate over any IP network including fixed-line and satellite, ensuring they are safeguarded against the threat of malicious eavesdroppers,” Bjoern Rupp, CEO of GSMK CryptoPhone said.

The partnership between GSMK CryptoPhone and snom includes R&D, marketing and sales strategy, and product support. The CryptoPhone IP 19 is fully compatible with all GSMK CryptoPhone IP mobile, satellite and fixed-line encryption products, allowing secure end-to-end encrypted calls across network borders.With phone fraudsters increasingly trying to access confidential data by listening in on communication over the phone, this solution will help businesses and governments neutralise outsider threats by providing 360 degree security.
