NET’s UC Gateways Extend Telephony Capabilities of Sametime Unified Telephony to Deliver Unified Communications and Collaboration Solutions

Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: NWK), a leading innovator in VoIP technologies, announced today that it has become one of the first gateway partners to complete the required interoperability testing of NET’s VX Series gateways with IBM Sametime Unified Telephony. The interoperability between Sametime Unified Telephony and the NET VX1200 brings service providers and customers more flexibility when it comes to deploying unified communications (UC) and collaboration solutions.


VX Series unified communications gateways provide flexible “any-to-any’ connectivity, robust call routing functions, enterprise directory integration, and the granular control of messaging parameters necessary to accommodate complex customer configurations. In addition to essential features such as SIP registration for WiFi clients and embedded QoS mechanisms, the VX Series offers simplified connectivity to both PSTN and external IP telephony service providers using digital and analog interfaces, giving the customer optimum flexibility for reducing costs.
