Sumitomo Shoji Machinex (SMX) Chosen for Their Innovation
Fremont, CA, July 20 2009 -
Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (“NET”, NASDAQ: NWK) announced today that it has selected Sumitomo Shoji Machinex (SMX), as its premier Japanese distribution partner to facilitate the expansion of NET’s existing partner networks. SMX is owned by the Sumitomo Corporation Group and provides optimal business solutions in the areas of machinery, telecommunications, electronics and building services.
NET selected SMX for their ability to efficiently deliver UC solutions to channel reseller partners, as well as their extensive knowledge, skills, and expertise in the communications industry. The selection of SMX is part of NET’s new global channel partner program, focused on significant scale. The company’s new program includes three distinct distribution partner levels – Premier, Advanced and Member – along with a category for strategic UC partners. All levels have been designed with specific requirements and benefits to help partners leverage and be rewarded for their NET product knowledge and solution support expertise. As part of this partner-enablement strategy, NET has extensively expanded its dedicated sales, marketing and technical support model to support these high-quality partnerships.
“NET is pleased to be partnering with Sumitomo Shoji Machinex in order to expand our route to market for our innovative unified communications products,” said Fran?ois Le, vice president of worldwide sales at NET. “By partnering with SMX, NET channel resellers will be able to leverage SMX’s extensive networking and enterprise IP products expertise and solution support to help customers build their UC networks.”
“As SMX continues to build its portfolio of communication solutions, NET’s voice switches and gateway products are a natural fit,” said Mitsuyoshi Daimon, General Manager of ICT Solutions Dept at Sumitomo Shoji Machinex. “Our partners will benefit from complete solutions incorporating NET’s full range of products supported by our extensive assessment, integration, and implementation services and our vertical market, virtualization, and security practices.”
