 MagicJack Will Answer in Front of Public Service Commission for Skipping 911 VoIP Fees

YMAX Communications and its subsidiary, MagicJack, were accused by Kanawha County Commission in Florida for failing to receive 911 fees from clients and to pay the county. The case will be discussed on March 1, in Public Service Commission on March 1.
MagicJack stated that the company it's not required by law to pay the fees because the company is not a VoIP provider, thus it is impossible to collect the fees because of the way company’s products are sold.
The company said that it's also not an Internet telephony company as described by the FCC. To become an Internet telephony company Magicjack should sell a separate device, but instead the company offers a magicIn service to get a number and to receive calls, and offers magicOut program to make outgoing calls.
