Libya Has Blocked Internet Service
| |
23 February 2011
The government of Libya has made a decision to block Internet access all over the country for the second consecutive day as protests against the leader of the country - Muammar Gaddafi – has been increasing.
According to Reuters, Libya's Internet traffic was cut off at 7:15 p.m. ET, Friday. Earlier that day, there were two partial drops in Internet service.
Last month, the same decision has been made by Egyptian government that shut down the country's Internet access for about one week in response to an outcry against president of Egypt Hosni Mubarak, who resigned last week.
