Skype is on its way to put in reality plans to become public service: the giant VoIP provider has witnessed continued customers and revenue growth. In company’s recent SEC filing, Skype has reported that the company had 663 million registered clients, comparing with 474 million in 2010.
As for paying customers, the average revenue slightly declined from $98 to $97 in 2010, but Skype has added about 145 million new customers comparing with 105 the company added monthly in 2009; paid customers increased to 8.8 million a month, comparing with 7.3 million.
Totally in 2010 Skype billed for 12.8 billion minutes, in comparison with 10.7 billion in 2009. As for free Skype-to-Skype minutes, the quantity has raised from 113.0 billion to 194.3 billion.
