Recent tsunami in Japan has influenced many people in the US, so many people wonder what they can do to assist, especially touched by the information that families left without homes or places to stay or with members of the family missing.
Some mobile carriers and IP telephony companies offer help to reconnect people with families and friends in Japan.
Vonage now is offering to company’s customers VoIP calls to Japan free of charge. The company has cancelled calling fees to Japan suffered after tsunami from March 11 until March 18.
Vonage has joined several other US operators offering free calls like Time Warner Cable and AT&T. AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile forgo all text message fees for donation services to disaster recovery.
