7 April 2011

Acme Packet has recently stated that SK Telink, the South Korean service provider, has deployed Net-Net 4500 session border controllers from Acme Packet for international calling and IP telephony services. The Acme Packet’s Net-Net 4500s are set at SK Telink’s interconnect and access borders and expand existing Acme Packet SBCs supporting SK Telink’s IP Centrex service.
SK Telink is a subsidiary of SK Telecom; the company represents one of leading operators in South Korea that offer international calling services. Moreover, Telink provides retail VoIP services to different South Korean companies as well as outsourced data center services for IP telephony service providers.
With deployment of Acme Packet’s Net-Net 4500 deployment, SK Telink changes its TDM-based interconnects for an end-to-end IP architecture.
SK Telink has chosen Acme Packet because of powerful Net-SAFE security framework and the ability of the Net-Net 4500 solution to withstand complex SIP interoperability challenges.
