12 April 2011

NBN Co., one of leading operators of Australia's National Broadband Network (NBN), has recently revealed 12 service providers to leverage the new network in order to provide services to customers and companies in end-user trials. But in the list there no ISPs Optus that is not NBN-ready, and TPG that opted out.
Expected to start end-user trials on the first sites in September, four companies including Telstra, Internode, iiNet and iPrimus have already completed "the on-boarding process and are NBN-ready."
In September, these four NBN-ready ISP companies will connect their customers to the NBN across mainland Australia, afterwards they will connect end-users in Amidale.
Eight other ISPs will also participate in the trial: AAPT, Comscenter, AARNnet, Exetel, Optus, Skymesh, Nextgen Networks and Platform Networks. These providers will start the NBN's ‘on-boarding process,' NBN Co. collaborates with retail service providers (RSPs) in order to prepare them to access the network.
