According to official information, Mobiglobe is “a thin chip which adheres to the mobile phone SIM card. It then allows users to call via IP telephony channels.”

In fact, officials with VoIP software solutions provider Speedflow say that it’s possible to save up to 70 percent on international calls. The Mobiglobe service is compatible with the most of modern mobile phones, and it is not necessary to have a smartphone for the service to work. Mobiglobe does not require GPRS/EDGE/3G or even a Wi-Fi connection to operate correctly.

There are two components of the call’s cost: There’s the call cost via mobile network to the local access number of VoIP provider which is registered in the chip. It is paid by the rates of the local mobile operator, cost of the chosen destination is “according to the rates of VoIP provider.”

As such things go it’s relatively easy to use, you don’t need to change the SIM Card or your mobile operator, company officials say, as you can call directly from your mobile phone’s existing contact list. There isn’t any obnoxious extra dialing such as PIN or access numbers.

It also supports CallBack, there’s a customer service hotline, and IVR -- “These functions will be supported in case the VoIP provider supports them or if the CallMax system is used,” company officials explain.
