 PRTC Has Chosen the Calix B6 to Bring Broadband Services to Kentucky

Calix, has announced that Peoples Rural Telephone Cooperative (PRTC) had chosen the Calix B6 Ethernet Service Access Nodes (ESANs), together with the 2000 suite of optical network terminals (ONTs), to deliver fiber-based broadband services to Owsley and Jackson counties in Kentucky.
PRTC intends to move Fiber Forward via deployment of gigabit passive optical network (GPON) technology in order to provide advanced services over fiber: fast data services, expanded digital television services, as well as high quality VOIP services to over 3,500 businesses and residences.
With the PRTC Broadband Stimulus award Calix has been chosen access vendor to three Broadband Stimulus projects across Kentucky, with over $227 million in awarded funds.
