Verizon Announced Re-Launching Net Neutrality Lawsuit
| |
4 October 2011
The FCC's new net neutrality rules that are scheduled to come into effect at the end of November, are under fire from several directions. Verizon again challenges the rules: the company has filed a federal lawsuit against the FCC that repeats a lawsuit the company first filed several months ago.
The lawsuit from Verizon comes a few days after Free Press Has filed its suit against the FCC, that the company has said passed too easy on wireless carriers like Verizon Wireless, in making the new rules.
However, Verizon hasn't been satisfied with the new rules as well, particularly after the FCC’s reaction on the effort of Verizon and Google to submit their vision for net neutrality rules.
This is Verizon's second lawsuit over the new net neutrality rules. The company filed the first lawsuit against the FCC in spring but that suit was out of court because the new rules had not been published yet.
