18 November 2011

Digium, the Asterisk Company, has officially announced the availability of the TE820 Octal-Span digital card. The new high-density solution is an addition to the company’s existing suite of telephony card offerings developed for Asterisk-based communications systems.
The TE820 Octan-Span card empowers Asterisk integrators and OEMs to make large scale telephony deployments both high performance and cost-effective.
Currently Asterisk is the most widely deployed open source software for business phone systems and communications apps. The combination of Asterisk software and Digium hardware provides a cost-effective platform for numerous communications solutions that vary from VoIP gateways and PBX systems to call centers, IVR servers and complete UC suites.
The TE820 Octan-Span card supports up to 192 channels (in T1/J1 mode) and 240 channels (in E1 mode). The card is now available with and without hardware echo cancellation.
