 GL Communications Released Emulation of 3G Protocols over IP

GL Communications has recently announced the rollout of company’s latest product, Emulation of 3G Protocols over IP.
At a press conference, company’s officials stated that company’s latest product is able to emulate all elements involved in the IuCs and IuH interfaces, “namely the RNC, MSC, Home NodeB (HnB - Femtocell), and Home NodeB (HnB) Gateway".
The Universal Mobile Telecommunications System represents a 3rd generation mobile technology. It deploys Wideband CDMA as the radio access technology. The UMTS network supports greater data rates, voice and video to wireless end-users.
IP based UMTS can support integrated services: multimedia and global roaming. In order to emulate different components of UMTS, GL Communications uses its MAPS foundation architecture that represents a versatile platform for detailed emulation of various protocols. “MAPS supports emulation of many protocols like ISDN, SS7, GSM, LTE, SIP, Megaco, MGCP, SIGTRAN, and many others."
