AT&T Announced Partnership with Accenture AT&T Announced Partnership with AccentureAT&T Announced Partnership with Accenture

2 December 2011

AT&T has officially announced that the company had entered into partnership with Accenture on a cloud-based imaging service for the healthcare industry. The Medical Imaging Solution from Accenture allows hospitals and their staff accessing and sharing medical images in the cloud.
AT&T had also claimed that the company was previously targeting cloud services at medical imaging and information management (MIMM) apps. The company announced the pay-as-you-go MIMM cloud service over the summer, and Accenture revealed the new imaging offering at the Radiological Society of North America conference held recently in Chicago.
AT&T plans to host the new offering in 2 of company’s 36 data centers. Among the images that can be accessed through the service there are CAT scans, MRIs and X-rays. An opportunity to put them in the cloud will make them more available to more healthcare centers.
Accenture claimed that about 73% of healthcare institutions overall plan to store medical images in the cloud.
