Verizon Communications Inc., HISTORY and Delivery Agent, the leader in multi-channel commerce for entertainment, have jointly announced the first contextual commerce app accessible to network programming viewers.
Subscribers of Verizon FiOS TV will receive 24/7 access to the HISTORY Shop app that empowers them to watch A+E Network’s HISTORY channel and use a remote control to buy merchandise related to and seen on series such as American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Ice Road Truckers and more.
The t-commerce shopping platform is built by Delivery Agent and tested by Verizon; this new platform taps into Delivery Agent’s database of products mapped to TV content in order to offer the right products at the right time.
Verizon’s officials commented that FiOS TV is a highly innovative and interactive service that brings technology in users’ hands to enhance and change their home-entertainment experiences. Verizon’s strategic partnership with Delivery Agent and A+E Networks “frees subscribers to access products they want in new and exciting ways.”
