The Broadcom Corporation, a competitive provider of semiconductor solutions, has recently announced that the company plans to unveil its MoCA 2.0-Integrated Portfolio that features six new set-top-boxes (STB) and Hybrid IP Gateway (News - Alert) system-on-a-chip (SOC) offerings at the CES 2012.
The MoCA 2.0 integration with the STB SoC, has empowered the company to create a broad portfolio offering of HD STB together with Hybrid IP Gateway solutions that bring the combined benefits of MoCA 2.0, improved video bandwidth and security along with reduction in power.
The BCM7425 Dual HD Transcoding Gateway STB SoC was designed to provide dual transcoding and dual HD decoding support that allows “simultaneous wireless streaming of video broadcast content over multiple devices.”
The MoCA 2.0 offering received operator support from Cox Communications, Charter, Cogeco and Comcast in addition to DIRECTV, DISH Network, Time Warner Cable, Rogers Communications Inc., and FiOS services from Verizon.
