20 January 2012

VOIP Connections, a premier VoIP service provider based in Seattle, has recently announced that the company had added support for ‘on premise’ or hosted Microsoft Lync 2010 using their ‘Mediation Gateway’ product.
Microsoft Lync 2010 needs PSTN connectivity for incoming and outgoing calling and for Conference Bridge support. To provide PSTN connectivity to Lync, businesses are forced to purchase expensive hardware from telecom providers and costly PRI lines. ‘Mediation Gateway’ from VOIP Connections eliminates the necessity in expensive hardware and costly PRI lines.
According to the company, Mediation Gateway can connect Lync’s Mediation Server to VOIP Connections’ hosted system through an IP based solution. “Mediation Gateway can be installed and configured on any server grade hardware and resides in the same environment as Microsoft Lync system.”
Mediation Gateway Product manager said, “Local DID number for Conference Bridge is a great way to reduce telecommunication costs. And we can provide DID numbers for majority of cities all over the World and that is a key differentiating factor. For the Conference Bridge dial-in users, Lync requires DID numbers. Customers prefer local DID number because it eliminates long distance charges. VOIP Connections can provide DID numbers for major cities all over the world and thereby eliminating long distance charges for the callers.”
