CCMI has recently released "Trends and Best Practices to Control International Roaming Costs" report that is commissioned by Truphone, a global mobile operator.
The report is based on survey gathered following a research of Fortune 1000 companies, explains the main financial and operational impact excessive international mobile roaming costs have on multinational enterprises.
According to the report, 40% of businesses are forbidding or curtailing critical business usage while abroad to help manage costs; 24% percent said, they have lost business as a result of roaming costs; 37% of businesses spend $1,000 or more per month per user on average wireless roaming costs.
The President of CCMI, noted, "It was always clear, through primarily anecdotal information, that international roaming costs are a big, and growing, problem. Now, this survey puts hard numbers on the issue and dramatically underscores the real dimensions of the problem for enterprises. Equally significant is the fact that despite formal mandates to rein in roaming coast at more than one-half of the companies, the problem -- and expense -- continues to grow exponentially."
