 EDP Collaborates with Foehn to Improve Communications Network

Foehn, a managed communications provider, is collaborating with EDP PLC, a supplier of advanced technology software solutions, in order to improve and simplify company’s communications network. “Foehn's installation of SIP trunks and the open source telephony toolkit, Asterisk, is estimated to save EDP ?17,000 a year.”
Initially, EDP selected Foehn to lower its telecoms costs and systems complexity between its 4 main operating sites, Sheffield, Warrington, East Grinstead and data centre in Milton Keynes, and to help upgrade to a better quality system.
Foehn's solution allows to connect the four sites together and to remove the necessity to have individual systems and lines.
Foehn installed a 70-extension centralized system at EDP's data centre. According to the Foehn, company’s technology provides EDP with a much more reliable system with improved features “with none of the voice quality problems they had from their legacy VoIP system."
