RTX has announced launching a new cordless phone, the DUALphone 4088, that represents a combined SkypeT and landline phone. The announcedment took place at ITEXPO 2012 in Miami.
According to the company, “the DUALphone 4088 does not require a user to be physically connected to a PC to make VoIP calls.” Callers can connect the DUALphone base station to a broadband connection and place Skype calls to other Skype users free of charge or have an option for conventional paid-for landline calls all over the world.
As company officials stated, “the company expects the new handset to bring free and low cost calls to consumers worldwide.”
The CEO of RTX commented that the new DUALphone 4088 provides customers with a unique way to use Skype, offering advantages of wireless free and low cost calls to households worldwide at an affordable price-point.
The new handset from RTX has a color TFT screen; it provides superior sound quality through the use of HD Audio. The system can switch between two separate Skype accounts and provides the following features: voicemail, call waiting and a phone contact list of 200 numbers; additionally the handset is enhanced with software to display the Skype status of the user and contacts.
