XConnect Announced Increased Revenues | |
17 February 2012
XConnect, a network peering specialist, has recently announced that the company saw a 61% growth in revenue across all services in 2011, driven partly by video communications market growth and an increase in traffic over the company's global network.
In 2011, the company rolled out the Video Interconnection Exchange (VIE), named “the world's first neutral federation for video communications.” Moreover, XConnect has also established strategic alliances with BCS Global and IPV in order to extend the video community and to make video calling as easy as voice calling.
According to company’s officials, XConnect saw a 78% increase in the number of calls, and growth in the volume of queries to company’s global ENUM-based registry to 3 billion, up 78%. Company’s ENUM registry included 2.2 billion numbers at the end of 2011.
In 2012, the company will focus on continuing to meet increasing requirements in sophisticated interconnection services, and it planned to create more national federations with interexchange services partners.
XConnect plans to work with mobile network operators in order to integrate ENUM registry capabilities into the GSMA Rich Communications Suite (RCS-e) to empower operators to provide IM or chat, file transfer, and live video sharing across any device on any network.
