Dell Canada Announced Partnership with Fongo Dell Canada Announced Partnership with FongoDell Canada Announced Partnership with Fongo

18 February 2012

Dell Canada is entering the VoIP app market via a new partnership with Fongo.
The two companies have recently rolled out a new VoIP phone alternative, Dell Voice that represents an iOS and Android application that allows users leveraging existing data connection to place and getting free calls using mobile phone or computer.
Dell Voice targets “users who want to avoid long distance charges on their house phone or who routinely go over their allotted minutes on their mobile phone.” Moreover, the application may be attractive for “small businesses that want to cut costs by running their office communications through their computer and their mobile communications through a VoIP app.”
The application is free and the calls are free, but VoIP works over 3G and 4G networks in case Wi-Fi connection is unavailable.
Dell has partnered with Fongo to benefit from the company's privileged access to Fibernetics, the Canadian CLEC that operates a coast-to-coast network in Canada.
