 Research: Polycom Is the Leader in APAC Videoconferencing Market

According to the new research, Polycom saw significant growth in the APAC videoconferencing equipment market in the Q4, the company “swept past Cisco to take a six percentage point lead for the year.”
Synergy Research Group’s recent research stated that Polycom controlled 34% of the market in the Q4; Cisco stood at 26% and Huawei and Sony were third and fourth respectively.
According to Synergy’s report, the APAC market’s growth was by a third from 2010 to 2011, “outpacing global growth by two percent.” The company estimated the global market at $3 billion.
Synergy Research Group founder and chief analyst noted that “the growth in the videoconferencing and telepresence market is being driven by four main factors, reduced technology costs, maturing technology, a drive to reduce operating costs and a desire to increase the efficiency of executive-level management.”
