Fraunhofer has recently announced that the company will help Android phones running the LTE network boast of clearer call quality with its new offering. Fraunhofer is bringing Full-HD voice calls to Android. The company will demonstrate new solution at the upcoming MWC.
The technology indents to make voice calling “as clear as that experienced on other A/V gadgets.”
The Full-HD intelligence is present in a number of other systems like video conferencing, VoIP and telephony, but has not been implemented for mobile communications yet.
The software utilizes the codec AAC-ELD and offers full advantage of the available audio spectrum. According to the company, the software “makes for more than four times the bandwidth of most regular phones and about twice the bandwidth of high definition voice services.”
As company officials stated, Fraunhofer AAC-ELD audio codec represents the perfect solution for all upcoming mobile Full-HD Voice services. It is compatible with music and audio signals, and makes quality levels “that can match up to those of HDTVs and Blu-ray sans raising the bit-rates.”
The company has incorporated the Full-HD Voice codec AAC-ELD into Android phones connected to the LTE network to put up for demonstration at the MWC.
