 GL Communications Announced Availability of TRAU Protocol Analyzer Software

GL Communications, one of leading providers of PC-based test, analysis and simulation products, has officially announced the availability of company’s TRAU Protocol Analyzer software.
As company officials stated, TRAU Analyzer can “non-intrusively monitor TRAU frames at the A-bis interface (BTS to BSC links), and A-ter interface (BSC to MSC links).” The new application automatically detects and captures TRAU frames of half rate (HR-8 kbps) and full rate (FR-16 kbps). Different codecs such as FR, EFR, AMR, AMR-WB, HR and Data are deployed for compression/decompression of speech.
TRAU Packet Data Analysis feature helps conduct analysis of TRAU calls, including spectral display of codecs, detail statistics, oscilloscope and wave graph. Moreover, it allows users playing voice files to speaker, writing speech data to a file, filtering calls, detecting digits and view graphs in order “to identify Full Rate and Half Rate traffic with traffic type and direction in a pictorial format.”
