Telstra Signed 12-Month Wholesale Agreement with NBN | |
29 February 2012
Telstra, an incumbent service provider, has recently announced that the company had signed a commercial agreement for selling services through the National Broadband Network (NBN), the Australian governmental network.
Telstra is the last large service provider to make a 12-month wholesale broadband agreement (WBA) with the NBN.
Optus, the second largest telco in Australia, has also signed a wholesale agreement with the NBN following recent rumors that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the country’s telecom regulator, might reject the plan. However, after signing the agreement, Optus officials said the company “wants the NBN to adopt more regulatory oversight and service assurance levels.”
Primus, iiNet and TPG have also signed agreements with the NBN.
