23 November 2010

If you upgraded your iPhone to iOS 4.2 and you use any VoIP application in the background, the ringer will continue even after the call is answered. Applications like CounterPath's Bria, Line2, and other VoIP apps are affected. Apple is aware of this issue and has designated its status as 'severe'. Fortunately iOS 4.2.1 has resolved this bug, which also fixed some Wi-Fi issues with the iPad.
“We are currently testing the new release and will provide an update on results shortly. Until then … please do not update to iOS 4.2,” Toktumi said. “Line2 will continue to work as normal with your current operating system. We strongly encourage you not to install iOS 4.2 until Apple fixes the upgrade issue.”
