Gizmo5, a standards-based consumer calling service announced it selected Dash Carrier Services, a provider of wholesale carrier voice solutions, as its exclusive E911 provider at Technology Marketing Corporation’s ITEXPO West 2009 tradeshow, which concludes today.

Under the partnership, Gizmo5 (News - Alert) can offer users a residential service plan using DASH’s E911 emergency service solutions program for $5.95 a month, Gizmo5 officials said. The move will add more than 5 million end-users to Dash’s dialer footprint.

“Phone users now get the safety of immediate access to emergency services plus the enormous cost advantage of VoIP,” Michael Robertson (News - Alert), Gizmo5 CEO, said in a statement.

Gizmo5 offers voice-over-IP services to consumers and businesses. Users can make and receive calls from any computer with browser access to the Internet, or use Gizmo5 to power IP phones. Also, Gizmo5 offers a host of features like call recording, IM, and file sharing. There is no cost to set up a Gizmo5 account or receive inbound calls from a Gizmo client. A small fee is implemented for outbound dialing, the company said.

The company reportedly is the largest calling and IM network offering VoIP and instant-messaging. The firm serves more than 6 million consumer and business users.

“The Gizmo5 subscriber base is growing at an unprecedented rate,” Dash CEO Justin Nelson said in a statement. “Its unique solution set gives both businesses and consumers the best of all that today’s next-generation communications has to offer. Dash has evolved into a true industry leader, and this partnership is a big step in our continued growth.”

Dash911, the company’s core E911 emergency services offering, has helped the company attain more than 210 voice service provider customers. The firm provides products and services to carriers and service providers, includingAT&T ( News - Alert), Sprint, M5, Metel, VoIP.com, and SkyBeam.
