 Cedar’s Point’s HD Voice Upconverting

Some time ago Cedar Point Communications announced about its "Enhanced HD Voice" offer created for its Safari C3 hardware.
From the first impression the PSTN samples at around an 8 kKz range. But if you have the correct algorithms so you can try to interpret and model what has being said on a PSTN grade voice call and after you may add in some extra low-band and high-band before delivering the modified - i.e. "upconverted" - media stream to the HD voice end-point to the other side.
By the way "upconverting was coming to consumers for years. As for video, DVD upconversion on a DVD player uses a stock 480i media stream and transfers it to HDTV at 702p, 1080i or 1080p.
Cedar Point believes that HDUPconversion will change HD voice service to be more attractive for clients to buy - they will receive better incoming speech quality despite how the call appears, via PSTN, narrowband VoIP, or other HD voice end point.
