 Genband Moves Forward with Cedar Point acquisition

Genband announced about acquisition of Cedar Point Communications, one of leading providers of VoIP platforms for cable companies.
Genband’s officials announced that acquisition will add around 7.5 million lines to company’s service across cable enterprises including Liberty, Comcast, Charter and Germany’s Kabel Deutschland.
Last year Genband picked up Nortel VoIP platforms but Cedar Point’s Safari C3 platform is working perfectly to cable’s needs, suiting well for small and middle sized companies.
Cedar Point’s Safari line brings for cable providers an integrated switching platform providing VoIP and multimedia services. One more benefit of the deal is Comcast’s VoIP business, which is shared between Cedar Point and Cisco. Cooperation with Comcast will promote Genband’s status and services.
The deal is expected to be completed at the end of the month.
