Product Demonstrations Also Will Prove Why D-Link Supports Microsoft's New Operating System Windows 7
Taipei City, May 27, 2009 - D-Link, the end-to-end computer networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today is taking advantage of one of the largest computer shows in the world, Computex Taipei, to demonstrate how business connectivity can embrace both quality and affordability in a tight economy.

Beginning Tuesday and continuing through Saturday, the five-day exhibition, which is the largest computer show in Asia and the second largest in the world, will feature D-Link's networking solutions that meet most business needs – superior performance, high reliability, full compatibility, quality service and support, and cost-effectiveness.

D-Link is announcing its products' compatibility with Microsoft's new operating system Windows 7. On display with live demonstrations for Windows 7 compatible products will be D-Link's two most popular routers, the DIR-655 and DIR-855 with the latest 802.11n wireless technology, and DCS-1130, the world's first 802.11n network camera with Windows Connect Now for easy installation and setup.

Also being featured in the MSFT booth L108 in the Nangang Exhibition Hall, as part of a typical business IP surveillance solution, is the D-Link® D-ViewCam WHS (Windows Home Server) working with D-Link's best-selling home security cameras, including the DCS-1130, DCS-1100, DCS-2121 and DCS-5230. The DIR-655 router will also be demonstrated under WHS scenario.

Products are allowed to display the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo on the packaging and other marketing materials only after meeting Microsoft's rigorous testing and strict technical requirements.

"One of the most important innovations that we’re seeing in Windows 7 is the ability for our network devices to be recognized and install automatically," said Tony Tsao, CEO and President of D-Link Corporation. "Connectivity is key, and Windows 7 provides us with a platform and resources to ensure that D-Link products are easy to use out of the box."

Visitors to the booth will be able to take a close look at the D-Link products and see why they are part of the reason D-Link is a global market leader for business networking:

* The D-Link Xtreme N® Duo Media Router (DIR-855), which supports both 2.4 and 5GHz wireless signals simultaneously, is ideal for users who want to check their e-mail and surf the Internet while streaming high-definition (HD) movies and other large files across the network.
* The D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Router (DIR-655) is another 802.11n wireless device that is designed to provide faster and wider wireless coverage for larger homes and offices, or for users running bandwidth-intensive applications. It also includes a four-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit switch that connects Gigabit wired devices for faster file transfers, especially in an IP surveillance environment.
* The new D-Link 802.11n Wireless and Wired Network Cameras offer plug and play connectivity with easy installation and setup, mobile 3G and Web monitoring, 16x digital zoom, sharp resolution and multiple profiles. The wireless DCS-1130 connects to the home or small business network using 802.11n Wi-Fi with WPS encryption support, or via standard network cable. A wired-only version (DCS-1100) also is available when a Wi-Fi connection is not required.
* The D-Link DCS-2121 network camera is a complete system with a built-in central processing unit (CPU) and web server that transmits high-quality video images for security and surveillance. And with the Snapshot and recording capabilities, video and audio can be saved and recorded directly from the web browser to a local hard drive without installing any software. The device features 802.11g wireless technology that allows easy integration with an existing wireless network.
* Designed for indoor surveillance applications and detailed remote monitoring, the D-Link DCS-5230 features megapixel resolution and built-in IR LED technology to allow surveillance in low light and/or nighttime conditions, and a PIR sensor can prevent false alarms by detecting motion changes in the surrounding environment. Other features include simultaneous MPEG4/MJPEG dual format compression, WEP, WPA-PSK and WPA2 wireless security and 10 present positions for Pan/Tilt movement.
