HONOLULU - Trump International Hotel & Tower ® Waikiki Beach Walk ® - Hawaii's newest and most luxurious Island resort, has selected Nortel* [OTC: NRTLQ] to provide a unified communications (UC) network to help streamline behind-the-scenes communications and meet the requests of guests more quickly and effectively. The new UC system will help the resort increase revenues by reducing energy costs, and by enabling sophisticated new guest services, such as high-speed Internet packages to help guests stay connected to the business world, even on their tropical Hawaiian get-away.

"From the desk in the suite, to the lounge chair by the pool, guests now have comprehensive, simple-to-use network access available by whatever means they prefer," said Jillian Sell, technology consultant, Prime Focus Consulting, LLC. The operation of the Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki Beach Walk is being managed by local consulting firm Prime Focus Consulting, LLC.

Energy-efficiency was a key factor in the selection of Nortel's architecture. Third parties have shown that Nortel data networking products provide up to 20 times the performance and seven times the resiliency than its competitors' solutions, while consuming up to 40% less energy and costing up to 50% less to own and operate.** With costs cresting .25 cents per kilowatt/hour, this is particularly critical in Hawaii, one of the most expensive electricity markets in the world.

Nortel's Energy Efficiency Calculator allowed network planners to chart different scenarios, resulting in the most efficient, cutting-edge network with the smallest carbon footprint available. "The Energy Efficiency Calculator enabled us to plot the most beneficial design. We anticipate realizing an Energy Savings of $430,000 over 60 months, providing a return on investment within three years. This proved to provide the best all-around value in this market," said Sell.
