27 May 2009

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., and ATLANTA, Ga.—May 19, 2009—Digium®, Inc., the Asterisk® Company, and DOW Networks, an international VoIP services and solutions company, announced today that DOW Networks has become a Digium Solutions Partner. DOW Networks as a key integration partner has used Asterisk, the open source telephony platform created by Digium, for years to create complex solutions for call centers and enterprises. DOW Networks’ products include domestic and international toll-free service, SIP trunks, Asterisk-based IP PBXs, hosted predictive dialer software, toll-free numbers and a complete portfolio of call center solutions.

Digium is the creator and driving force behind Asterisk, the open source voice communications software deployed by millions of servers worldwide to manage VoIP calls for businesses and individuals. More resellers, telecom professionals and software developers choose Digium’s products than those of any other open source telephony company because only Digium delivers the technical superiority, security and flexibility associated with Asterisk. Asterisk powers Digium’s family of software and hardware appliances including AsteriskNOW™, Asterisk Business Edition™ and Switchvox™.

DOW Networks provides international communications and enhanced VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) services and solutions for call centers, hotels, distributed enterprises and small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). For call centers, it offers open source solutions built around Asterisk that deliver the features and functionality required by inbound, outbound and blended operations. From offices in the U.S., Costa Rica, Jamaica and South Africa, the company serves customers in more than 50 countries. The company is already a Digium reseller and an expert in Asterisk and the Switchvox IP PBX.

“Our expanded relationship with Digium will allow us to continue introducing new Asterisk-based solutions and reinforce our position as an expert in Asterisk-based systems,” said David Wise, DOW Networks’ CEO. “Our experiences and customer feedback will help ensure that Digium’s products remain well-aligned with the needs and expectations of our customers.”

“As a leading, international VoIP service provider, DOW Networks represents a valuable path to fast growing markets like South Africa and Latin America,” said Bill Miller, Digium’s VP of product management. “We are pleased to expand our already strong relationship with DOW Networks.”
