Dialogic Gateways Complete Certification with Asterisk® SIP-based Solutions Dialogic Gateways Complete Certification with Asterisk® SIP-based SolutionsDialogic Gateways Complete Certification with Asterisk® SIP-based Solutions

15 December 2009

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. and PARSIPPANY, N.J. - December 15, 2009 - Digium®, Inc., the Asterisk® Company, and Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for media and signal processing, today announced that Dialogic has met the program requirements to become a Digium Interoperability Partner by completing the certification of the Dialogic® 1000 Media Gateway Series ("DMG1000 Gateways") and the Dialogic® 2000 Media Gateway Series ("DMG2000 Gateways") for use by the Asterisk community. Digium's Interoperability Partners have products that are complementary to and interface with the open source Asterisk telephony platform. These products interact with Asterisk through a SIP standards-based interface and are now certified by Digium for interoperability with Asterisk Business EditionTM.

Dialogic® Media Gateways, including DMG1000 Gateways and DMG2000 Gateways, are widely used to provide PBX integration between applications deployed on SIP-based media servers and the installed base of TDM and hybrid IP-PBX systems. Open source software such as Asterisk has emerged as a viable SIP service creation platform used to create innovative communication applications that can be integrated with existing PBX infrastructures. In the absence of direct SIP to SIP integrations between an Asterisk-based solution and an existing PBX, Dialogic Media Gateways can provide the signaling and media translation necessary to make the solution work.

"Being certified as a Digium Interoperability Partner promotes further choice for the open source telecommunications community," said Franz-Joseph Eberle, general manager of the Enterprise Market Group at Dialogic. "Dialogic has been a media and signaling communications platform pioneer since the early 1980's, and this has enabled our customers to create truly innovative solutions that can be deployed into virtually any enterprise communications infrastructure. We expect this relationship with Digium to benefit joint customers in similar ways going forward."

"Having worked with Dialogic previously, Digium recognizes that Dialogic has significant expertise in enabling enterprise and carrier applications", said Bill Miller, Digium's vice president of Product Management. "Certifying Dialogic's Media Gateway products with Asterisk Business Edition provides our joint customers with additional deployment options that will promote Asterisk-based solutions to benefit both companies."
