 Hibernia Atlantic and Huawei Announced the Completion of First 100G Transatlantic Connection

Hibernia Atlantic, the diverse transatlantic high bandwidth connectivity provider, and Huawei, one of leading ICT solutions provider, along with Huawei Marine, a submarine solutions supplier, have recently announced that they have completed the first 100G transatlantic connection between Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada to Southport, England.
This is the highest capacity connection across the Atlantic Ocean. The successful connection allows the companies to move forward on the deployment schedule that includes 100 Gbps connections between Halifax and Montreal; between Amsterdam and London by the first quarter of 2012.
This trial involved the 100 Gbps single wavelength coherent technology from Huawei. This technology deploys innovative DSP algorithms and next generation FEC; it enables high capacity transport across transatlantic distances.
