New York, NY - May 6, 2009 - VoIP and Social Communications pioneer, Jeff Pulver, today announced that The HD Communications Summit, has industry luminaries and a full day of innovative programming to bring forward the vision of high definition VoIP. Scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2009, the one day conference will be held at New World Stages in New York City.
“I believe HD voice holds the same promise for the telecom industry as format changes in the entertainment industry,” stated Pulver “With enough interest, together we can trigger a replacement cycle like the one observed currently with HDTV.”
“Wideband VoIP represents the next step for IP telephony and enables phone conversations with greater clarity and higher fidelity and richness,” said Dr. Michael Knieling, Executive VP of Marketing and Sales for snom.
At the HD Communication Summit there will be vendors demonstrating their products and platforms, as well as, presentations on the transformation of the existing communications infrastructure into one which supports HD.

AudioCodes’ broad portfolio of products is considered an enabler for smooth adoption of HD VoIP."
"Today, DSP Group silicon solutions are enabling high definition voice on cordless handsets around the world, said Mike Rude, VP Business Development. “As people and enterprises increasingly cross social and global boundaries, they are relying more and more on voice communications,” said Jeff Rodman, co-founder, CTO Voice Division, Polycom. “Today, we’re talking business from home, in the office, and on the road, and our conversations are increasingly challenged by different accents, background noise, even bad speakerphone pickup. In any of these situations, having the whole spectrum of speech instead of only one quarter of it – which is what conventional phones carry - makes a truly remarkable difference. And that’s what HD Voice does, helping people in everything from emergency services to day-to-day business.”
