NETGEAR Plans to Buy Westell's Customer Networking Solutions Division

NETGEARhas put in its plans to buy Westell's Customer Networking Solutions (CNS) division for $33.5 million.
The revenue of Westell’s CNS division in 2010 was around $35.9 million thanks to providing CPE gear to Verizon Communications and Cincinnati Bell.
According to the agreement that is expected to be closed in Q2 2011, the Westell will keep some of company’s customers and HomeCloud product line.
With completion of the deal NETGEAR will receive an opportunity to get a bigger foothold in the telecom market of the US.
