Juniper Networks, one of industry leaders in network innovation, and BitGravity, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Communications, have officially announced that two companies have signed a definitive agreement.
Under the terms of the agreement, Juniper Networks will acquire rights to the service management layer of BitGravity's CDN technology.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Juniper intends to complement its Media Flow Solution with the service management layer of BitGravity's technology in order to allow service providers, content delivery networks (CDNs) and online media companies to provide online content more cost-effectively, driving new revenue and improving the end-user experience.
Juniper Networks officials commented that the company plans delivering an integrated solution later this year.
